Description
INDICATIONS FOR APPLICATION
- Indirect coating of the pulp to protect it.
- Direct pulp coverage in case of open pulp or pulpotomy.
- As a gasket to prevent contact of the pulp with the acidic environment of sealing cements.
- As a material for temporary (therapeutic) sealing of root canals.
ADVANTAGES
- Contains active calcium hydroxide on a water basis.
- Intended for pulp protection and temporary filling of root canals.
- Accurate and convenient material application.
- pH > 12.
- Calci-Jen kits also include replaceable delivery cannulae that ensure accuracy of drug administration and avoid cross-contamination.
METHOD OF APPLICATION
- Thoroughly clean and dry the cavity.
- Remove the tip cap, place the cannula on the Calci-Jen syringe and apply the paste in successive layers until the desired layer thickness is reached. Allow time for each coat to dry or blow dry.
- The paste should not be applied to the edge of the cavity and, if it gets there, it should be carefully removed. Then start applying the gasket and further restoration.
- In endodontic treatment, the canal should first be prepared and cleaned (using 3% hydrogen peroxide solution or sodium hypochlorite), then Calci-Jen paste should be introduced into the canal using Lentulo or NaviTips (Ultradent). After that, you need to seal the tooth.
- It is recommended to check the sealing of the canal with the help of an X-ray image.
- Close the syringe with the cap immediately after use.
RECOMMENDATIONS AND SAFETY MEASURES
- Post-operative sensitivity: If the paste has been removed beyond the apex of the root, this may cause discomfort (tenderness when biting or swelling), however, these symptoms usually disappear within a day.
- Do not use hardened paste.
- Do not use expired material.
