Description
PROPERTIES
Root canal filling paste meets the following criteria:
• does not dissolve after hardening;
• does not shrink over time;
• has increased radiopacity;
• can be easily inserted into the canal and, if necessary, easily removed from the canal;
• is tolerated by periapical tissues;
• the antiseptic effect of the paste continues for several hours after being introduced into the canal in order to sterilize organic residues in the canal that may remain after the pulp extirpation;
• the antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effect of the paste stops after the hardening.
INDICATIONS
• Permanent root canal filling and sealing during dental procedures in combination with gutta-percha.
Compatible with all obturation techniques:
• single pin technique;
• lateral condensation;
• vertical condensation and compaction;
• thermal obturation.
PRINCIPAL PARTICULARS
• A highly effective, time-tested formula!
• The excellent organoleptic properties of the paste make it easy to insert into the root canal.
• Dexamethasone and hydrocortisone acetate provide postoperative sensitization and a potent anti-inflammatory effect.
• Thymol iodide and paraformaldehyde are responsible for the antimicrobial effect of the preparation.
• The presence of bismuth oxynitrate and barium sulfate provide radiopacity for short and long term follow-up.
• The paste does not dissolve, does not shrink, which guarantees a stable obturation of the root canal.
COMPOSITION
• Main components: zinc oxide, barium sulfate, bismuth oxynitrate.
Excipients: hydrocortisone acetate, dexamethasone, thymol iodide, paraformaldehyde, magnesium stearate
MODE OF APPLICATION
The tooth to be treated must be isolated (using a cotton roll or rubber dam). First, carefully treat the canal, giving it the required shape, then treat it with an antiseptic solution, rinse and dry with paper pins. Then, prepare the filling paste for its immediate application. To do this, the powder should be gradually mixed with eugenol until the paste acquires the consistency required to perform the required filling technique.
The paste should be injected into the root canals using canal fillers, and then one or more gutta-percha pins, previously adapted to the shape of the canal and lubricated with paste, are inserted there.
An x-ray should be taken to check how well the root canals are filled.
• Working time: minimum 6 hours at room temperature.
• Curing in the root canal: 1 to 12 hours.
